Booking terms.
The terms that apply when you book with The UK Flights, in plain English. If anything here is unclear, call us and we will explain it properly.
1. Who you are booking with
The UK Flights Ltd is registered in England and Wales, company number 06995514, an IATA accredited agent, number 91201434.
When you book a flight with us we act as an agent for the airline. Your contract for the flight itself is with the airline, and their conditions of carriage apply to your journey. Our job is to arrange the booking properly, issue your tickets and look after you when things change.
2. Prices and payment
Every price we show includes taxes and charges. Extras such as bags and seats are always optional and priced separately before you pay.
Airline fares are live and can change between choosing a fare and ticketing. If the price moves before we complete your booking, we stop and show you the new total, and you choose whether to go ahead. We never charge a price you have not seen and agreed to.
Payment is taken in full when you book. We do not charge card fees.
3. Your tickets
We send your e ticket and booking reference by email. Check the traveller names against the passports straight away, airlines require an exact match and correcting a name after ticketing can carry an airline fee.
A member of our team reviews every booking. If something looks wrong we contact you before it becomes a problem.
4. Changes and cancellations by you
Bookings are final once ticketed. Fares are non-refundable and non changeable except where the fare rules on your ticket allow it, or where the airline cancels or significantly changes your flight. The cheapest fares almost never allow refunds, flexible fares change more cheaply, and the rules are set by the airline, not by us.
Call us on 020 7993 8474 and we will read the rules on your exact ticket, price any change with the airline and give you the real cost before you commit to anything.
Where the fare rules or the airline’s cancellation of a flight make a refund due, we claim it from the airline and pass it back to your original payment method as soon as the airline releases it.
5. If the airline changes your flight
Airlines sometimes change schedules, aircraft or routes. When a change lands on your booking we contact you with your options, which the airline sets. Where a significant change entitles you to an alternative flight or a refund, we help you claim it.
6. Passports, visas and health
You are responsible for making sure every traveller has a valid passport, any visas the journey needs and meets any health entry rules, for the destination and any connection points. Requirements change, so check with the relevant embassy or the FCDO travel advice in good time.
We are happy to point you to the right sources, but we cannot accept responsibility if a traveller is refused carriage or entry because their documents are not in order.
7. Financial protection
Flight only bookings are not ATOL protected, which is true wherever you buy a standalone airline ticket. Your tickets are issued under the rules that govern IATA accredited agents.
Where your booking forms a package under the Package Travel Regulations, ATOL financial protection applies, and we tell you clearly before you pay. The UK Flights Ltd holds ATOL number 10758.
Some of the flights and flight-inclusive holidays on this website are financially protected by the ATOL scheme. But ATOL protection does not apply to all holiday and travel services listed on this website. This website will provide you with information on the protection that applies in the case of each holiday and travel service offered before you make your booking. If you do not receive an ATOL Certificate, then the booking will not be ATOL protected. If you do receive an ATOL Certificate but all the parts of your trip are not listed on it, those parts will not be ATOL protected. Please see our booking conditions for information, or for more information about financial protection and the ATOL Certificate go to: www.caa.co.uk
Your financial protection. When you buy an ATOL protected flight or flight inclusive holiday from us you will receive an ATOL Certificate. This lists what is financially protected, where you can get information on what this means for you and who to contact if things go wrong.
We, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL Certificate, will provide you with the services listed on the ATOL Certificate (or a suitable alternative). In some cases, where neither we nor the supplier are able to do so for reasons of insolvency, an alternative ATOL holder may provide you with the services you have bought or a suitable alternative (at no extra cost to you). You agree to accept that in those circumstances the alternative ATOL holder will perform those obligations and you agree to pay any money outstanding to be paid by you under your contract to that alternative ATOL holder. However, you also agree that in some cases it will not be possible to appoint an alternative ATOL holder, in which case you will be entitled to make a claim under the ATOL scheme (or your credit card issuer where applicable).
If we, or the suppliers identified on your ATOL Certificate, are unable to provide the services listed (or a suitable alternative, through an alternative ATOL holder or otherwise) for reasons of insolvency, the Trustees of the Air Travel Trust may make a payment to (or confer a benefit on) you under the ATOL scheme. You agree that in return for such a payment or benefit you assign absolutely to those Trustees any claims which you have or may have arising out of or relating to the non-provision of the services, including any claim against us, the travel agent (or your credit card issuer where applicable). You also agree that any such claims may be re-assigned to another body, if that other body has paid sums you have claimed under the ATOL scheme.
8. Group bookings
A group trip collects 2 to 9 adult travellers on one booking. The per person price shown while a group fills is a live estimate for the whole party, airline fares move until the moment the group is booked. If the fare moves beyond a small buffer before booking, the organiser is shown the new price and decides whether to go ahead.
Each traveller provides their own details and settles their own share. The group travels on one airline booking reference, and the fare rules on that ticket apply to every traveller in the group. Groups close 14 days after they are created or two days before departure, whichever comes first.
9. Flight Points and referrals
Flight Points are a loyalty benefit, currently 500 points when you create an account and 5 points for every pound spent on flights and hotels booked through your account, credited when the booking is made. When a friend joins through your invite link and makes their first booking, flight or hotel, you each receive 1,000 points, once per referred friend. Points cannot be spent yet and will be redeemable against future flights when card payments launch. Points have no cash value, cannot be transferred and the scheme may change or close with reasonable notice. Points earned stay visible in your account.
10. Your account
Keep your password safe and your saved traveller details accurate, we use them to fill in bookings. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
11. When something goes wrong
Tell us first. Call 020 7993 8474 or email sales@theukflights.com and we will work it through with you and the airline.
Because we act as an agent, our responsibility covers the booking service we provide. The flight itself, including delays, cancellations and baggage, is the airline’s responsibility under their conditions of carriage and applicable law, including UK261 passenger rights where they apply. We help you pursue those rights.
12. The legal bits
These terms are governed by English law and any dispute is subject to the non exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may update these terms from time to time, the version on this page at the time you book is the one that applies to your booking.
